I told him the story of when I lived on the farm where an American Plains Indian, Indian Joe, worked for my grandfather in return for food and shelter. The Indian never ate anything but meat. When my grandparents would slaughter a steer or a hog, they would put it in the cellar and Indian Joe would go down and eat it. He never ate fruits or vegetables. I asked this doctor how it was that Indian Joe could live to be 115 years old and survive without carbohydrates, and how could the Indian have had a bowel movement without fiber?”
