But piezoelectricity is not an appreciable sinking or dissipation of energy (otherwise all quartz piezo watches would not last years on one watch battery) and instead probably nearly as good at re-transmitting the energies to which they are entrained. It follows, doesn’t it, that resonance without sinking then becomes an additional source, an added danger? I think this is why bags of wet charcoal are used in Korea/Singapore instead of crystals/rocks/etc.
